FOOTBALL-MAD Edward Belknap got to meet his Arsenal heroes on Saturday when he was chosen at random to be the Gunners’ mascot for their Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion.

The 12-year-old, who lives in Highbury, bagged players’ autographs and a brand new Arsenal kit before getting the chance to lead the team out on to the pitch.

Despite Arsenal’s shock 3-2 defeat, Junior Gunner Edward was delighted with his big day out.

“I can’t believe I was chosen. It was brilliant! I shook all the players’ hands and walked out on to the pitch with them which was amazing.”

Bacary Sagna, pictured with Edward, said: “It was great to meet Edward before the game and to have him lead us out on to the pitch. I hope he enjoyed his day!
