ARSENE Wenger let fans know exactly what Cesc Fabregas thinks of the club last night (Wednesday) after Arsenal dismantled SC Braga in their Champions League opener.
Fabregas enjoyed an outstanding night at the Emirates as he grabbed two goals, including a rare header, and two assists in a resounding 6-0 victory.
Within minutes of the final whistle, Wenger revealed that he has never questioned his captain's commitment.
“He loves this club,” said the Arsenal boss.
“Some people doubted it, but I never did. He had a big influence on the game. People forget he's only 23-years-old.”
It took Arsenal just seven minutes to break the deadlock when Fabregas scored from the spot after Marouane Chamakh was bundled over by Braga goalkeeper Felipe.
The Spaniard then turned provider as he played a stunning pass to Andrey Arshavin, who beat the keeper at his near post.
Chamakh scored the third when he latched on to Jack Wilshere’s cheeky back heel.
Fabregas added the fourth early in the second half when he headed home Arshavin’s cross.
Substitute Carlos Vela came off the bench to bag a brace, adding the finishing touches to neat passes from Arshavin and Fabregas.
