PLAYERS from the rampaging Red Team were crowned champions in the Year 3 and Year 4 Benchball Championships, which were held at William Ellis Secondary School in Highgate.

Children from nine primary schools entered the competition, where they were split into mixed teams represented by different colours. It proved a winning formula for the youngsters wearing the red bibs, who won both the ‘A’ and ‘B’ team categories.

The event, organised by the Camden Schools Sports Association, also gave Young Sports Ambassador Darren Fitzpatrick a chance to showcase his skills at helping to run a successful youth tournament. Darren works within the Camden School Sport Partnership to promote sport and help encourage the borough’s future coaches, volunteers and medal winners.

The Year 11 pupil, at William Ellis is already ranked as a Gold Ambassador because of the hours of volunteering he has put in.
