• LA SAINTE UNION girls power-rowed their way to victory as they scooped four major trophies at the Camden Secondary Schools Rowing Championships.
Competing on a virtual rowing machine, the triumphant youngsters showed tremendous energy levels as they covered more ground than any of their rivals to win the Year 8, Year 9 and the Year 10 and 11 girls’ titles.

Deputy head of PE at the school in Highgate Road, Lyn Shakespeare, said: “It was a fantastic achievement for all the girls. It was also nice to see different faces taking part in the competition.”

Organised by the Camden School Sports Federation, Camden School for Girls stopped La Sainte Union from completing a clean-sweep of the trophies when they beat them by just a single point to win the Year 7 trophy.
Meanwhile Hampstead were the big winners in the boys’ competition, capturing the Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 accolades. Acland Burghley School won the only remaining trophy after racing to glory in the combined Year 10 and 11 age group.
