THE London Blitz are through to the semi-finals of the European Federation of American Football Cup after defeating Saint Ouen l’Aumone Cougars 26-21 on Saturday, writes Gerald Williamson.
After some excellent run-blocking from the Blitz offensive line and wide receivers, running back Gareth Dauley galloped
60-yards for the first touchdown of the game.

Kicker Ed Morgan added the extra point to give the Finsbury Park-based club an early lead.
The Cougars made their ensuing possession count and looked to have found their rhythm as they muscled their way into a 14-7 lead to turn the game around.

The Blitz maintained their composure and quickly hit back with quarterback Fred Boyle (above) finding captain and wide receiver Rod “Spartan” Bradley, who streaked away into the end zone for a 33-yard touchdown. Morgan missed the resulting point after kick to leave the Blitz trailing by a point.
The hosts refused to give up, however, and went on to claim a memorable victory with Dauley and Bradley both scoring their second touchdowns of the game and Morgan adding the extra points.
