KENTISH Town FC ended a run of 12 games without a win on Saturday when they netted a nervy 3-2 victory over Hanwell Town.

In a blistering first-half performance, the Townies raced into a 3-0 lead as they look to escape relegation from the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League.

Anthony Clark showed great composure to break the deadlock, before James Lindsay doubled the advantage after latching onto a perfect pass from Lee Scott.

Kentish Town looked on course for an easy win when Jason Donlon made it 3-0 from the spot after Scott was brought down in the box by Hanwell’s keeper.

Hanwell pulled two goals back to set up an exciting finale, but Kentish Town managed to hold on for three vital points.

Afterwards manager Rak Hudson said:  “It’s certainly been a long time coming and it proved to be a nervy end to the game as we held on for a massive three points. We are delighted with the performance and the result, but we are not getting carried away.”

Kentish Town will look to continue their climb up the table on Saturday when they face Welwyn City.
