Smith supershow leaves blitzed Bush well beaten

A SUPERB all-round performance from Tom Smith helped Hampstead secure their second win of the season on Saturday with a five-wicket victory away at Shepherds Bush. 

Smith tore through the home sides’ batting order to claim five wickets for 46 runs in a devastating six-over spell. Supported by Hanish Patel, who took 3-23, Hampstead dismissed their opponents for 185 runs in just under 55 overs. 

Opener Brandon Buckley ignited the visitors’ reply in spectacular style as he raced to a score of 52 off 32 balls, smashing 10 fours and a six along the way. 

Smith then came in to cap a man-of-the-match performance with a superb knock. He scored 70 not out off 94 balls, including 11 fours, to guide Hampstead to a winning score of 186-5 off 43.5 overs. 

Akram and McMahon share seven-wickets as run goes on

South  Hampstead 136-2

SOUTH Hampstead sealed their second successive win on Saturday with a comfortable eight-wicket victory. 

Bowlers Majid Akram and James McMahon were in outstanding form as they claimed respective figures of 4-49 and 3-34 to dismiss Harrow for just 135 runs. 

South Hampstead needed less than 22 overs to take all 10 points with in-form Alex Range scoring 49 not out and Paul Atherley notching-up 51 not out. 

Elsewhere, North Middlesex suffered a five-wicket defeat in a high-scoring encounter away at Harrow Town. 

Having been put into bat, Zulfiqar Bipul top-scored for the visitors with 62 as the Midd posted a testing score of 281-8 before declaring. 

It could easily have been a winning score, had it not been for a mighty knock of 116 not out from Uzairuddin Mohammad. Along with a well-crafted 74 from Muhammad Arshad, Harrow Town took all 10 points with a massive score of 283-5 off 47 overs.
