SPEEDSTER Indigo Mathews stole the show in the south coast at the weekend when she starred for Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club at the Fareham Nomads Open meet in Southampton.
The triumphant 10-year-old needed a sack to carry home her medal haul as she won 10 golds, the trophy for the top girl in her age category and the accolade for the top female swimmer of the tournament.
Camden’s team of 48 swimmers were in outstanding form as they scooped 70 medals, including 32 golds, on their way to clinching the tournament’s top club award.
Tamir Gonen-Cohen, 13, was voted top girl in her age group, collecting four gold medals along the way.
Alex Peak, 14, took the prize for top 14-year-old boy after winning six golds and four silver medals.
Team-mates Sarah Taylor Reid and Hok Iao Wong capped impressive displays by winning two gold medals each.
Coach Mark Allen said: “This was a great way to round off the season for the swimmers and a fantastic team effort.
“The most pleasing aspect for me was that for many of our younger swimmers this was their first experience of a big event and they acquitted themselves brilliantly.”
