The Wroe - Step forward Mr Campbell? - Pip Wroe's thoughts on Sol Campbells Return to Arsenal

SO, Sol Campbell is returning to Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s long- standing policy of having one highly suspect centre-back at all times has moved into overdrive with Philippe Senderos, Mikael Silvestre and now Campbell filling the role with aplomb.
With the Gunners severely lacking a match-winning front man, perhaps Wenger has hopes of moulding Campbell into a centre-forward.
At the peak of Spurs mediocrity we were blessed with the gloriously incompetent Gary Doherty, a man amusingly out of his depth at both ends of the field. Let’s hope Campbell can do for Arsenal what Doherty so valiantly did for us; enforce mediocrity with shambolic defending. Campbell can throw the biggest spanner possible into Arsenal’s somehow resurrected title challenge.
