Star striker Jordan Palmer-Samuels is Gunner give his all

A YOUNG striker snapped up by Arsenal has described scoring against Chelsea as “the best moment so far” in his quest to become a professional footballer. Teen sensation Jordan Palmer-Samuels has netted 15 goals in just 19 games since signing a two-year schoolboy contract with the Gunners in September. The promising 15-year-old, who lives in West Hampstead, picked a game against The Blues as his number one highlight. “We were drawing 2-2 with Chelsea when I came off the bench and scored. I was really excited because it is the biggest game I have played in and I thought I had scored the winner. “Unfortunately the joy was short-lived because we let in two goals in the last five minutes and ended up losing 4-3. “But now I’ve had a little taster of what it’s like scoring in a big game it’s definitely something that I want to experience again,” he added. We reported in September how Jordan made a dream debut for Arsenal when he scored a hat-trick in an under-15s match against Leyton Orient. The Hampstead schoolboy proved an instant success and signed a contact with former Arsenal hero Liam Brady, who is now head of youth development at the club. Despite being a keen Manchester United fan, Jordan was delighted to join the Gunners. Almost five months on and the 15-year-old feels he is progressing well, a feat he puts down to harder training at a higher level. “The training is a lot tougher than anything I’ve done before, which is good because it makes me feel like I’m developing more as a player. “I think my technique and my intelligence both on and off the ball have improved a lot. “In training I always put in as much effort as I can so that I can prove to everyone that I deserve my chance.” STEVE BARNETT
