HOLDERS Arsenal Ladies booked their place in the last eight of the FA Cup on Sunday after coming out on top in a five-goal thriller against Leeds Carnegie.

Scotland midfielder Jennifer Beattie gave the north Londoners a slender half-time lead at Meadow Park, Boreham Wood FC.

Leeds equalised through Ellen White on 53 minutes but the Gunners restored their advantage through Jayne Ludlow five minutes later.

Former Haverstock schoolgirl Rachel Yankey showed great composure to net what proved to be the winner 10 minutes from time.

Jess Clarke scored a second for Leeds late on to set up a tense finish, but Arsenal managed to hold out to secure a quarter-final tie against Doncaster Rovers Belles.
