ORGANISERS from the Winchester Project couldn’t hide their delight this week after being presented with £1,300 by Partners for Improvement in Camden (PFIC).

The valuable backers have made a big impact at the community centre in Swiss Cottage, sponsoring a football competition last summer and offering youngsters careers advice. They also fixed the roof at the Winch, which would otherwise have cost thousands of pounds.

Winchester Project director Paul Perkins said: “We want to say an enormous thank you. It’s no exaggeration to say we were stunned when we were handed a cheque for £1,300, which for us is money that will go a long way.”
