THE weather is getting colder, but the action in the Camden and Islington Youth League is really starting to heat up.
In the friendly Under-8s Division newcomers The Heath (pictured) continued their fine start to the season with a 4-0 win over ‘A’ Class at Market Road. James Taylor scored twice, while a strike from Cameron Hannah and an own-goal completed the win.
In the Under-9s ‘B’ Division unbeaten Isledon Wolves put in one of their best performances so far this season against The Heath. Lewis Christie gave Wolves the lead, which they held onto going in at the break largely thanks to some excellent defending from Malachy Pennant-Sammy.
Harry Ward ran from inside his own half and beat the keeper to double Isledon’s advantage, before Kai Sekera-Campbell capped a player-of-the-match performance with his first goal for the club to round-off a 3-0 victory.
In the Under-13s ‘A’ Division undefeated Lyndhurst have now gone seven games without conceding a single goal. The title-chasing team brushed aside ‘A’ Class 4-0 in their last outing thanks to a double strike from Callum Cushing and goals from Danny Leonard and Emmanuel Mafuta.
Meanwhile in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League players from Islington Admiral were in seventh heaven after they beat South Hampstead in the Under-12s Division.
Captain Teddy Tumbridge and Albert Hicks scored two goals apiece, while Alfie Cunningham, Wilfie White and Harvey Cadden were also all on target in a 7-1 victory. Anthony Roberts was voted Admiral’s man-of-the-match.
