Never mind the 3Rs, Transport for London signs fail 3Es test
Published: September 1, 2011
AN error by Transport for London has undermined attempts to rebrand an area around Haverstock Hill with the trendy new name “Steele’s Village”.
New signs on bus stops leave out the final “e”. The correct spelling is on welcome flags hanging from lampposts in the area.
Liberal Democrat councillor Matt Sanders said: “This is the kind of silly mishap that really annoys residents.
Couldn’t the signwriters have just looked at the street signs, the lamppost banners or stopped and asked a local?
“It’s great that TfL responded to our campaign, but now they need to come back and correct their spelling mistakes.”
