Proper Oils boss is a “London Leader” - Sustainable Development Commission short-lists Stephen Hurton for Sarastro biofuel scheme

A WEST END businessman is among those who have been honoured as “London Leaders” as part of a scheme run by the London Sustainable Development Commission,

Stephen Hurton collects waste cooking oil from Sarastro restaurant in Drury Lane and uses it to manufacture biofuel for commercial use. 

Managing director of Proper Oils, he has been selected along with 15 others for his contribution to environmentally sustainable business in the capital.

Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, said: “Our growing phalanx of London Leaders past and present embody a positive force for change, helping to improve quality of life in our great city.”
