BEING funny for money were students of Holloway School, who raised £1,000 for Red Nose Day.

They paid £1 to wear their own clothes and many sported Comic Relief red noses as the school adopted a light-hearted air for the occasion on Friday. One class organised a sponsored silence – encouraged by their teacher – and the school council made and sold cakes.

The BBC’s charity telethon Comic Relief raised £74million for good causes worldwide on Red Nose Day this year. Holloway head Bob Hamlyn said: “Once again, students at Holloway School have dug deep to support those less fortunate than themselves.”
