£160K Islington Council chief to be named soon
Published: 4th March, 2011
A SHORTLIST has been drawn up for the top job at Islington Council.
The borough is recruiting a new chief executive to replace John Foster who is retiring in May.
A panel of top councillors will meet on Wednesday, March 16 to choose the successful candidate.
The decision will be made public a week later and ratified at a meeting of the full council on Thursday, March 31.
The council has slashed the chief executive’s annual pay from £210,000 to £160,000 as part of an economy drive in line with the government’s austerity strategy.
