Armed pair admit violent shop raids on same night - Finsbury Park and Fortess Road businesses targetted

AN armed duo behind a raid on a Kentish Town shop have also admitted violently assaulting a shopkeeper.

Levi Ingram, 20, pleaded guilty on Thursday to carrying out an armed robbery at a newsagent in Finsbury Park and a violent raid at My Shop in Fortess Road earlier the same evening.

He admitted robbery, attempted robbery, two counts of possession of an imitation firearm and grievous bodily harm at Blackfriars Crown Court. His 16-year-old accomplice, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to the same charges at an earlier hearing.

The court heard the pair entered the Fortess Road store on December 21 armed with a gun and a knife and made off with £300 from the till after threatening staff.

They escaped along Burghley Road from Dartmouth Park Hill and minutes later they entered the Gonca supermarket in Blackstock Road, Finsbury Park, and demanded cash.

Ingram held the fake gun to the head of the 46-year-old shopkeeper, which prompted his 25-year-old son to tackle him. CCTV images showed Ingram repeatedly pistol whipping the son while his 16-year-old accomplice tried to stab the shopkeeper.

Both men will be sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court on July 28.
