SOUTH End Green was transformed with a spectacular summer fair on Sunday.

More than 500 people attended this year’s Hampstead Heath Summer Festival. There were bouncy castles, a “Pup Idol” dog show, clothes and food stalls, a Bollywood dance procession, and music from jazz-fusion guitarist John Etheridge.

Organisers said it was one of the biggest South End Green had ever seen. Saira Grant, 36, who lives in Savernake Road, attended with her husband and two children. She said: “It’s nice and old-fashioned, and they’ve gone to the effort of blocking off the street, so there are no cars for once and kids can play freely.”
