Green-fingered gardeners honoured at Camden in Bloom ceremony

THE joy of gardening with your neighbours was celebrated on Monday at a special awards ceremony celebrating Camden’s green-fingered residents.
People shortlisted for the 2011 Camden in Bloom competition gathered at the Town Hall to learn if their efforts had been a success.
Among the winners was Rosemary Leech, who won an award for the best front garden, and people living in a sheltered housing scheme in Regent’s Park called Pennethorne House, who scooped the cup for the best communal garden.
Presenting the ceremony, Town Hall sustainability chief Gospel Oak Labour councillor Sean Birch said: “It is such an honour to be among people who care so much about our green spaces.”
