HOWZAT? Forget the victorious England cricket team, Paddington Academy students learned to bowl like the best of them at the indoor school in Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood on Monday.
The visit was part of a programme facilitated by Westminster School Sports Partnership, which aims to inspire young people to get active.
Paddington Academy is the first school in the borough to participate in the scheme.
Year 10 student Osama Malik said: “To be trained by some of best cricket coaches in the country has been an amazing opportunity. I can’t wait for our next visit to improve on all the skills I learned today.”
Wayne Grant, the school’s head of PE, said: “Cricket is one of the most popular sports played at Paddington Academy, so when we announced the programme to the students they were all very excited to have a chance to play at one of the most famous cricket fields in the world.”
