A 23-year-old man believed to have stabbed his girlfriend to death before taking his own life in Finsbury Park will be formally identified today (Friday).
He died on the train tracks in Finsbury Park tube station shortly after the murder on New Year’s Day.
Police believe he may have killed himself after repeatedly stabbing Jitka Nahodilova at a home rented by the couple in Barnet.
Police said the 27-year-old, a deputy manager for a European clothing firm, died from huge blood loss after she was knifed.
In a statement to police, her father Lubomir Nahodi, said: “Jitka was full of life – a kind, considerate and loving daughter.”
Police discovered a knife near the couple’s house, a Met spokesman said.
Det Insp Liz Baker of the Metropolitan Police added it was “a tragic case and our hearts go out to everybody involved”.
The deaths are at this time being treated as murder and suicide and police are not looking for anyone else in the case.
Anyone with information should call the incident room on 020 7321 7228.
