A PENSIONER is being treated for serious facial injuries in hospital after being hit by a moped in Camden Town.

Eyewitnesses said the 81-year-old victim did not move while he was being treated by paramedics on Camden High Street, where he was struck as he crossed the road at the junction with Delancey Street during rush-hour last Friday morning. A café worker from Reason to Eat, opposite the junction, said: “The motorcyclist went flying but he was OK. He was obviously very upset.

“The man was on the floor for about half an hour before they moved him. It is a very dangerous crossing I think.” A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: “He was taken to the Royal Free Hospital with facial injuries.”

No arrests have been made and a Camden Police spokeswoman said the incident is not the subject of a criminal investigation.
