He has already tackled Snowdon and done a bungee jump all for good causes

AND now Kamal Hussain is preparing for his biggest challenge yet – climbing Mount Everest.

The 27-year-old information administrator from Fiztrovia is hoping to raise £25,000 to help rebuild an orphanage in Rafah, Gaza, which was razed to the ground by bombs in January 2009.

“It’s a big project that has become very important to me,” said Kamal. “Before it was bombed the orphanage was a huge asset to the community, as it also doubled as a school, medical and religious centre.

“There’s only so much we can do as individuals – here we are focusing on a specific objective to make a difference and benefit a lot of people.”

The project is being organised by Islamic Help. Kamal previously raised £10,000 for the charity by climbing Snowdon, and showed his daredevil side by completing a sponsored bungee jump.

Leaving on April 1  he will join half a dozen other climbers making their way to Base Camp.

“My big sacrifice is I’ve stopped eating kebabs,” he joked. “I’m a big big fan of kebabs – I have one every other day – so I’ve cut down on that.”
