YOUNG people living within a mile of King’s Cross are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to become an apprentice with a national company.

Forty vacancies are available on courses for young people aged 18 to 24 who do not already have the required GCSE grade Cs to get onto an apprenticeship scheme

The West Euston Partnership (WEP) is using funds secured from Network Rail’s development of King’s Cross station to fund a series of eight-week courses.

Anyone completing the “Get in!” courses – in interview skills, literacy, numeracy and health and safety standards – will win an interview with a large construction firm.

WEP trustee James Danby said: “There is a definite need for programmes of this kind and we have had widespread support from within the industry for this particular initiative.”

For more details about the courses at the Working Men’s College in Euston, contact Jilla Jamfar at WEP on 020 7383 5861 email project@westeustonpartnership.co.uk or visit www.westeustonpartnership.co.uk
