HELP is at hand for young mothers facing difficulties bringing up their children.

Mothers aged 18 to 25 can now seek psychotherapy from the “Breaking the Cycle” project, which is funded by a £60,000 Lottery grant. The scheme assists mothers to become better parents by helping them to understand the root of their difficulties.

Breaking the Cycle is a four-year-project being organised by the Women’s Therapy Centre in Manor Gardens, Holloway.

Chief executive Ann Byrne said: “If a young mum has been neglected in her childhood there is a danger she might

imitate the way she was brought up with her own children. The psychotherapy we offer helps women to feel less depressed and anxious and have a greater ability to relate to those around them.”

The Women’s Therapy Centre is a charity which aims to give access to psychotherapy to women on low incomes.

It can be contacted on 020 7263 7860.
