Victim left unconscious after West End attack

POLICE have appealed for information after a man reported to be West End nightclub founder and St John’s Wood resident Philip Sallon was assaulted and left unconscious in Piccadilly at the weekend.
The 59-year-old suffered a fractured skull and broken bones in the attack, which took place outside the Gap store at about 3.30am.
Officers believe he was approached by two suspects who kicked him repeatedly in the head and subsequently ran off.
Witnesses called London Ambulance Service who found the victim unconscious on the opposite side of Shaftesbury Avenue outside the Ripley’s Believe It or Not exhibition.
