A COUPLE accused over the death of their four-year-old son will have to wait until the autumn before they go before a jury.

Old Bailey Judge Stephen Kramer, QC, heard that leading medical experts have been in consultation on the causes of Jayden Wray’s death.

The boy’s father, Rohan Wray, 21, and 18-year-old mother, Chana Al-Alas, formerly lived with the infant at Armour Close, Roman Way, Holloway. They were arrested on charges of murder or causing or allowing the death of their child. Both are on bail and live at separate addresses in north London. They are banned from contacting each other.

When Judge Kramer was told that 13 experts are in line to testify at the trial due to begin on October 31 “in a very complicated case”, he appealed for a reduction and commented: “That is far too many.”

Jayden died at Great Ormond Street Hospital on July 25, 2009.
