FIFTEEN roads in Camden will be closed tomorrow (Friday) for Royal Wedding celebrations.

Street parties and family fun events will take over as residents break out the bunting for Kate and Wills’s big day.

Lambolle Road in Belsize Park will be closed to traffic from 1.30pm and a bouncy castle, magicians and DJs are booked in.

Organiser Debbie Isaacs, who has set up a special interactive website for the event, said: “We’ve had 300 hits on our website already and people are starting to get excited. It’s a real community spirit. Although the street is closed until 7, we’ll go on celebrating until the very end.”

There will be street party in Perrin Lane off Hampstead High Street. Elaine Loughran owner of the King William IV pub said: “Quite a few American channels like CBS are going to be filming here. It’s going to be a long day but we’re really looking forward to it.”

Traditional English food will be served along with home-made ice cream. Ms Loughran added: “There’ll be a large outdoor projection of the wedding ceremony as well as jazz and even massages.”

Partygoers will also have a chance to be snapped alongside William and Kate’s cardboard cut-outs.

Some of the party proceeds will go towards Henderson Court, a centre for the elderly which has been threatened by public spending cutbacks.

Doughty Mews in Bloomsbury will be closed from 3pm for a public barbecue and the nearby Duke pub will stage a “Friday I’m in Love” singalong evening.

Other streets holding parties include Glenbrook Road, Platt’s Lane, New End Square, Patshull Road, Menelik Road, Lymington Road, Lupton Street and Ospringe Road. St Alban’s Primary School in Baldwin’s Gardens is celebrating while there will be an “Unearthing Creativity Street Party” in Queen’s Crescent.
