All Saints go marching in - Rusty shop front replaced... at last as clothing store move in

AFTER almost two years of delays, an illegal shop front in Camden High Street has been removed and replaced by trendy clothing store All Saints.
They had put up a rust-coloured iron-panelled front without planning permission on their flagship Camden store, and despite legal enforcement notices being issued by the Town Hall in 2009, the company did not act until last month.
Regent’s Canal Conservation Area Advisory Committee chairman Brian Lake said: “This is a chain store and you find they adapt buildings to suit whatever they want.
“I cannot say I am delighted with what there is now, but it is an improvement over what was there. I think it is the case that enforcement is not taken seriously. The Town Hall do not put enough resources into it, which means people just do what they want and then try and get away with it. But at least Camden Council have got this changed – eventually.”
No one from All Saints was available to comment.
