St Mary Magdalene Church’s peace prize

THE grounds of a Holloway church have won an environmental award for their tranquillity. 

St Mary Magdalene Church, in Holloway Road, now goes through to the final in March next year of the Sacred Spaces awards, run by London-based The Conservation Foundation. 

Lindsay Clarke, editor of the Londonist, an events website, who nominated the church for an award, said: “St Mary’s is a peaceful space for quiet reflection which encourages biodiversity.”
