Rise and shine – First York Rise street party success

The party in full swing

Published: 09 September, 2010

BUNTING and balloons were the order of the day on Sunday as the first York Rise street party brought neighbours together.

Dartmouth Park residents banished cars as they ate, drank, listened to live music and socialised – and in the process managed to raise cash for the Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead.

Traders from the Village Cafe and Continental Stores, the Monsoon Curry house, Truffles Deli and the Dartmouth Arms offered regulars a chance to sample their wares. Youngsters showed off their own artistic bent as they drew pictures of the street.
