DOZENS of children from Regent’s Park Estate polished their football skills with a coach from Queen’s Park Rangers football club at the pitches in Cumberland Market.

The West Euston Partnership (WEP) organised the summer training scheme throughout August – and are now in talks with QPR about organising regular sessions at Netley and Christ Church primary schools.

Chief executive of QPR in the Community Trust, Andy Evans, said: “I have been impressed by the keenness of the youngsters and with the efficiency of West Euston Partnership, an organisation we would like to do more work with.”

WEP Trustee and Regent’s Park Ward councillor Tulip Siddiq said: “West Euston Football School has been a fantastic opportunity for the kids in our area, a welcome addition to the Cumberland Market summer programme and a good foundation to build on future sports activities with QPR FC.”
