POLICE have seized two suspected pit-bull dogs after raiding a Newington Green home on Monday.
Officers with a warrant issued under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 visited a home in Hathersage Court after neighbours complained dogs had been intimidating residents.
Two pit bull-type dogs were seized and a 34-year-old woman arrested. She has been bailed to return to police on November 1.
The dogs are being kept in secure police custody while further tests are carried out to determine if they belong to a banned breed.
Police officers from Mildmay Safer Neighbourhoods Team assisted by North Islington Problem Solving Team and North East Dogs Unit raided the home.
PC Audrey Forrester said: “This was a successful operation based on information received from the community. We will continue to robustly crack down on illegal dogs to protect the public from harm.
“We encourage anyone with information about dangerous dogs to contact us in confidence.”
