Published: 28 October, 2010
PUPILS at Gospel Oak Primary School dressed up in national costumes from across the world to celebrate a gold award for their “outstanding and vibrant” geography curriculum.
Children arrived at the Mansfield Road school dressed in an array of colourful garments on Friday to recognise the prize awarded by the Geographical Association. Teachers were praised for their innovative teaching methods and enthusiasm.
Geography coordinator Joss Plotkin said: “The children are aware of environmental issues and are committed to recycling, saving energy and improving our local area.”
Inspectors who visited Gospel Oak were impressed by the high quality of pupils’ work. The school uses field trips, creative projects and the diverse backgrounds of pupils to teach the subject.
