Human rights lawyer killed on King's Cross tube track - Cricklewood woman charged with murder of Cross-gender David Burgess

FAMILY and friends of a high-flying human rights lawyer who died on the tracks at King’s Cross station have paid tribute to a “wonderful person”.

Police released the picture (above) of David Burgess, 63, also known as Sonia, who lived in Shaftesbury Avenue and died after allegedly being pushed onto the tracks at rush hour on Monday.

The solicitor lived as a cross gender man and had two daughters and son. In a statement released via the police his family said: “Sonia [David] was a loving and wonderful person and will be missed deeply.   We would appreciate being given space to come to terms with our  loss.”

A senior partner at Luqmani Thompson and Partners in Wood Green described him as “a pioneer in setting legal tests and trends in genuinely trailblazing cases”. 

• Nina Kanagasingham, 34, of Cricklewood, has appeared at City of Westminster magistrates’ court charged with his murder.
