A CHEF has told of his horror at seeing a 14-month-old girl fall from a window in Edgware Road.
Mohammed Al Assad said he had initially thought that he was seeing a teddy bear plunge from the first-floor flat window near Connaught Square, Marble Arch, adding that he was amazed the child had survived.

Mr Al Assad was at work at the time but immediately rushed out and called an ambulance.
He said: “I was the first person who saw her. I heard her shouting and looked round and I was shocked to see her falling.
“At first I thought that someone had thrown a teddy bear out of the window. She was still moving and shaking and I called an ambulance.
“There was a bit of blood coming from her head but not much and I think she landed on her belly.
“The police cordoned the whole area off.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Police were called to reports of a child fallen from a window of a flat in Grosvenor Court Mansions on Edgware Road at about 8.25pm on Friday, October 8.
“Officers and paramedics attended and a 14-month-old baby girl was taken to hospital suffering head injuries. She has since been transferred to a specialist hospital and is described as in a serious but stable condition. Inquiries are being carried out into the circumstances of the incident.”
