Sales and Lettings agency 'Douglas & Gordon's' to take day off to collect donated food for Children's charity 'Kids Company'

A SALES and Lettings agency is taking part in a “mass forage” to help fill hampers for vulnerable children this Christmas.
Westminster-based Douglas & Gordon will encourage staff to take the day off work on December 1 to gather non-perishable food donated by big-hearted businesses and families.
Thousands of items will be ferried by lorry to the headquarters of Kids Company, the charity for disadvantaged children founded by Iranian businesswoman and author Camila Batmanghelidjh.
Douglas & Gordon’s managing director Ivor Dickinson said: “When Camila gave me a tour of their headquarters and showed me what goes into looking after 14,000 children, I was gripped. We feel so passionately about the cause that we’ll be closing all our offices for the day, operating on a skeleton staff to ensure our usual service won’t be hampered.
“We have some very persuasive people at Douglas & Gordon so we’re expecting to collect thousands of items.”
Staff will be knocking on doors in Westminster on the day but anyone who is not going to be at home but wants to contribute can deliver their produce to Douglas & Gordon’s office at: 106 Wilton Road, Pimlico. Alternatively, visit www.kidsco.org.uk to donate money.
