House blaze

FORTY firefighters tackled a major blaze at a house in Blomfield Road, Maida Vale.

Parts of the basement, ground and first floors of the four-storey building were damaged on Saturday morning. London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters battled through thick smoke and managed to prevent the fire from spreading.”
