DRUMS echoed around Camden Town on Friday as schoolchildren held a special event as part of Black History Month.

Pupils at Holy Trinity and St Silas Primary, in Hartland Road, held a showcase of African music, poetry and culture to mark the end of the national celebration.

Unfortunately the school’s annual parade had to be abandoned due to bad weather but youngsters created colourful banners, learnt to play African drums and joined together in a variety of songs, as proud parents watched.
