Attendance figures at Camden schools rise

SCHOOLS in Camden have recorded their best attendance figures in 12 years after a drive to prevent students playing truant.
Primary and secondary schools now have an average of 94.5 per cent of their youngsters in class every day.
The top 10 schools received certificates as the Town Hall congratulated them for their commitment to learning.
Labour schools chief Counclllor Heather Johnson said: “Camden schools have worked really hard to improve and it is fantastic that 43 of our 56 schools have increased their levels of attendance. All their hard work has paid off and we have seen a year-on-year increase in attendance which has resulted in the highest level in our schools for the last 12years.”
The top 10 schools for attendance were:
- St Joseph’s [Holborn] 95.5%
- Holy Trinity [Hampstead] 95.8%
- Hampstead Parochial [Hampstead] 95.8%
- Sir Christopher Hatton [Holborn] 95.9%
- St Eugene de Mazenod [Kilburn] 95.9%
- Eleanor Palmer [Tufnell Park] 96%
- Emmanuel [West Hampstead] 96%
- Christ Church [Hampstead] 96.3%
- Holy Trinity and Saint Silas [Camden Town] 96.4%
- St Paul’s [Primrose Hill] 96.5%
