QUINTIN Kynaston School in St John’s Wood has been nominated for a prestigious national teaching award.
Just three years after Jo Shuter was named headteacher of the year, the school is up for “outstanding school team of the year” at the Teaching Awards 2010.
It will face competition from two other schools – one in Oxfordshire and another in Kent – at the ceremony on June 22.
Quintin Kynaston, based in Marlborough Hill, is waiting to learn its fate following reports that the Building Schools for the Future programme will be cut, potentially leaving proposals to knock down the school and build a bigger campus hanging in the balance. It is one of only two schools in Westminster where rebuilding work his yet to begin.
