THESPIANS have challenged travellers to a ping pong duel at St Pancras International.

Experimental artists from the Search Party company played table tennis with commuters as part of a “piece of art that questions the relationship between sport and performance”.

The day-long challenge helped promote the Sprint Festival, a celebration of avant garde theatre at the Camden People’s Theatre and saw business people competing with actors and producers.

The festival, now in its 13th year, includes an array of bizarre performances such as a play about a man’s search for enlightenment via the medium of toy elephants, and a show starring newborn babies.

The Sprint Festival is at the Camden People’s Theatre, Hampstead Road, until March 28. For a full programme visit www.cptheatre.co.uk
