THIS storyboard of pictures show the moments a Dalmation dog came close to meeting a horrible end.
The spotty dog was being walked by its owner in Fairfax Road, Swiss Cottage, when it spotted a canine friend across the street: and he bounded off to share a wag and a sniff. But to the horror of its owner, the dog decided the quickest route was a way even Cruella De Ville would flinch to see – the dog bounded underneath a number 31 bus that was heading past. People on board said they heard a large thuds and it was obvious they had driven over something – to their horror, when the driver stopped, the passengers saw it was the eager dog, who had become wedged beneath the double decker.
The frantic owner was unable to drag his pooch free – and so called the fire brigade. They came and after some wriggling and the use of a special harness, managed to drag the poor Dalmation free – amazingly unharmed.
Eye witness Ron Vester, who took these pictures, said: “We got off the bus to see the owner trying to crawl under it to his pet. Firemen soon arrived and swiftly took control: they asked the the dogs name and then brought out some equipment and soon pulled out the lucky creature. The owner very shaken.”
