JESSIE WRIGHT: Relatives in public gallery as case moves to Old Bailey
Wednesday March 10, 2010
By DAVID ST GEORGE, at the OLD BAILEY
GRIEVING family members of Maria Fidelis schoolgirl Jessie Wright, 16, were at the Old Bailey today when the case of the teenager accused of killing her was listed.
But Zakk Sacket, 19, did not appear and Judge Stephen Kramer QC set his plea hearing for June 14, refusing him bail. He will go on trial in the Autumn.
Jessie lived near King's Cross station and her body was found in an alley close to her home.
Following representations from Mr Sacket's defence lawyer about comments on the case, Judge Kramer called for restraint and “responsible reporting”.
