FAMILY and friends of teenager Jessie Wright are planning to march across Islington in memory of the schoolgirl who was found dead in such tragic circumstances.
The 16-year-old former Maria Fidelis pupil’s body was discovered abandoned in an alleyway off York Way, next to the Delhi Outram Estate, on Thursday, March 4.
Jessie’s friends and relatives are expected to turn out in force for the march at 1pm next Sunday, March 28.
Friends are still finalising the route.
Close friend Stevie Parker, who organised an emotional candlelit vigil for Jessie last week, said: “It will start from Jessie’s flowers (next to Outram Place) at 1pm and we’re going to do it round the Caledonian Road area.
“We want people to wear pink, flowers and bright colours – they were Jessie’s favourite. She loved her flowers in her hair. We’ll be in Ugg boots and Jessie T-shirts.”
Stevie and her friends are still finalising the route and are hoping to get hold of some white doves to release on the day.
She said she wanted to thank the hundreds who turned up to last week’s vigil, especially the unknown person who released a Chinese lantern, prompting cheers of “We love you Jessie”.
Stevie added: “People were so supportive, people were writing on Facebook and sending texts.
“I really feel like I’ve done her proud. We tried to get hold of Chinese lanterns but we couldn’t find any.
“I really don’t know who set it off but I want to thank them.”
