ANIMAL lovers pawed into St Paul’s Church in Camden Square on Saturday for a special service dedicated to pets.

For the fourth year running the sound of collars jangling filled the air as Father Bruce Batstone led his congregation of dogs, cats, rats and a ferret through hymns before blessing the furry favourites.

Special speaker Reverend Philippa Turner, chaplain to the Royal Veterinary College in Royal College Street in Camden Town, also gave a reading and helped with the blessings.

Dog owner Dora Green said: “Pets are such an important part of our families and our lives. I think it’s brilliant that they get their own special day.”
