Biggest, brightest! Marylebone summer fayre proves the best yet

FUN and sun-seekers flocked to Marylebone on Sunday for the biggest summer fayre in its history.

The bandstand in Paddington Garden rocked to festival sounds, foodies were sated with a feast fit for a dozen kings and if that wasn’t enough, the punch and Pimm’s flowed like the River Nile in monsoon season.

Salsa and jive dancers snaked down Marylebone High Street to prey on the unsuspecting, or anyone who had perhaps indulged more than they wanted to, and fancied a hot-stepping workout.

But it wasn’t entirely a parents’ playground – children had the run around of their own Orange Zone, complete with bouncy castle, bungee trampoline, Victorian carousel and a World Cup penalty shootout.

The seventh annual fayre was organised by landlords The Howard de Walden Estate, with proceeds going towards the Teenage Cancer Trust.
