CHILDREN on the Mozart estate in Queen’s Park got to grips with their new playground this week.

The new facilities, which are based around a nature theme, feature swings, giant ladybirds and even a mini wood.

The opening is the culmination of a six-month building project by CityWest Homes during which children were encouraged to help with the planning.

Philippa Roe, Westminster Council’s cabinet member for housing, said: “The opening of this facility is great news for local children as it gives them a positive way to spend their time out of school. This new playground will provide a safe play area which families can enjoy.”

The playground was funded by CityWest Homes, the Big Lottery Fund and Playbuilder Fund.
