THE mother of student photographer Tom Hurndall who was shot dead by an Israel soldier in 2003 has said their family are still searching for justice.

Jocelyn Hurndall told the New Journal that the release of his killer Taysar Heib this week did not mean the person responsible had served his time – but was a timely reminder that the Israeli government’s policies concerning the rules of engagement had still to be properly scrutinised.

She said: “We found at every turn the Israeli government was obstructive.”

Ms Hurndall also expressed her fear that the families of those who died on the Gaza on May 31 Flotilla would struggle to find out the truth of what happened. Nine people were killed when Israeli forces stormed the ships.
